Welcome Back PAW - but your daughter! (OT)

Dear Mr. PAW:

As a member of PPO (Parents and Posters Organization), you know it is important for you to take an active roll in your daughter's posting habits. During your brief absence from the board, your daughter (Sylvia-FL) almost "acted out" on two separate occasions.

We are glad you are back in time to curtail any non-angelic behavior in your daughter before it gets out of hand.

Ohmigosh, an American who doesn't know what a "Bronx Cheer" is!

In England we would call it a raspberry

The term "Raspberry" for a Bronx Cheer comes from the Cockney rhyming slang. Until I heard the full term ("Raspberry tart"), I had no clue why "Raspberry" would be used for the sound of flatus.

Sylvia - Please translate!

I had no idea Cockney was like this. Very interesting!

BTW, before some wiseguy rings in to say we are not "doing" anything and must be bored, this one is shaping up to be one of my better weeks thanks to Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. Wed and Thursday is not so bad, either!

I thought Ernest would translateSmiley

Hello my old mate (china plate) - what do you say we pop around to the bar (Jack Tar). I'll buy you a beer (pig's ear) and you can talk (rabbit and pork) about your kids (teapot lids). We can have some soup (loop de loop) and supper (Tommy Tucker) and be gone before the clock (hickory dickory dock) strikes twelve.
