contracts w/ ss

So if I get a call from a ss and they want a signing done that same day do I just have them confirm w/ me via email what the payment will be? Never done a signing yet!!! so I am confused about what to do when I get a call from signing service I have never heard of?

then check them out on this sight by going to search and typing in their name to make sure they aren't mentioned as non payers. made that mistake twice now

In addition to the amount of payment have them include in the confirmation your required turn around time for payment. If they give you a hard time about including it in the confirmation, they are probably not someone that you want to deal with.

I always ask:
1. The address of the place of signing...this way I can mentally figure out my fee.
(Once I get the address, I plug the address into mapquest or other mapping website to get the mileage; sometimes I even do this before I accept an assignment.), but that's just me.
In most of the calls I receive, after I ask the address, they say is $XXX.XX ok for this?
I will either accept or counter, once I agree on a fee, the caller asks if I would like the confirmation by email or fax.

***That is basically how I handle any incoming calls.
