e-doc fun

I finally got my laser printer last month. Got my first 2 edocs signings this week, the first went pretty good, worked out the kinks. The second was a little different! They send 2 emails, the first one was main docs, the second the hud and rest of docs. I get to the signing and the borrower starts to freak out - wrong payment, wrong interest etc. then she noticed wrong frist name, their name was common (lets say smith) The main docs sent were for smiths in another state! I had glanced at the last name when I got the docs but never thought about checking the whole name. (learn something new everday) I called the ss had they emailed the correct docs to me, signing was only 6 miles away, so I ran home and printed them up. I wish I could say all went well after that--- The terms still weren't what the borrower wanted so she SCREAMED at her L.O. to get to the office and fix it right then (10:30pm) Docs weren't signed that night. sorry for long post ;-)

just a question. you mentioned that you recently bought a laser printer. Before that did you only do signing that were sent via overnight mail or fax? I'm just wondering b/c I am new to all this and am in the middle of trying to figure out what printer to buy. I just have inkjet printer but am a little concerned about spending so much $ on a laser printer if I haven't even done one signing.

Up until now I mainly did overnight, or pickup. I did do a couple that they emailed to kinkos or ups. lots of trouble with that though. There is still work out there for overnight only, but the business does seem to be going the e-doc way. Get experence first to make sure it's what you want to do. You can do a search on the board about printers, People seem to like hp and brother the best. But you do need pcl6 for sure. If you haven't read it yet check out message #33325 hope you do well :-)

I love my HP 1300, refurbished from HP website for $129.00.
It has two drawers for printing both
legal and letter size pages. Bless the people
on this board and G-d bless America and
the heros who fought
and are fighting for freedom!

If you want to do more, in this business, get a laser, it's money well spent.

I bought a Brother HL-5140 - great laser printer and didn't cost that much. If you have an office depot in your area watch their ads. They have some really good deals. (I am not advertising for office depot - just a suggestion on where to look for an inexpensive, but good, laser printer).
