how long does it take ?

I was just wondering if you experienced Loan Signing Agents can shed some light on ...

How long does it take before someone gives you a break for your first signing ? and How many SS did you sign up with before you got called to do the first one ?
Thanks...

My first signing was a couple days after I filed my bond and took the oath of office. Actually, I did three that day.

Yes, it's Santa Ynez Valley and yes I was at class. By the way it's R-H-O-D-A. There is no 'N.' Were you at class?

Not very experienced - but I did my first signing within one day of signing up with a website

that had a listing fee. Have had only one call from a SS where I had completed their

application process - and that is out of 100+ companies. They didn't ask how many I

had done and I didn't tell them they were only my third. I'm up to about 20 loans now and

have been working on this since about mid March. What part of So. Cal are you?

I took my Loan Signing class May 14th...in San Diego. I am in North San Diego County.
I have signed up with atleast 50 companies. I continue to search and sign up every day.
Still nothing...I put an ad on Craigs list. I got a call from there thast was interesting. It was for a signing at the jail. That is all I have gotten so far. Just waiting for that special somone to give me a chance to prove what I can do.

I got a call a few days after I put my first web site listing up. signingagent.com.

I have not received a call from a single SS I have signed up with, and I have signed up with well over 100. The one that I had signed with that called said they got me from here anyway, not their database. Sorta funny.

It took me about 2 months to receive my first call. That was almost 2 years ago, when Southern CA was less saturated with notaries than it is now.

tell you that there are probably over 2000+ Signing Agents in San Diego County now & most of them are considered "Certified" by one Agency or another. The re-fi boom is over, & I really don't think there is enough work to go around these days. Were you "enticed" into this business by being told you can "Earn Big Bucks doing Loan Signings" by the NNA or Notaryclasses.com? Welcome to the real world & good luck!

I didn't become a Notary to make the big bucks...I don't get inticed easily ...so no!

I have a full time career in the Medical device industry. I am a Quality Coordinator / Document Control Specialist. I am also in the Real Estate degree program at Mira Costa college. I am taking my RE exam in 2 weeks. Being a Notary Public is a great addition to my resume which is looking pretty good ...if I do say so myself! There is always work for great people like myself and alot of people I have been reading on this board. They are positive and an asset to anyones business!!! You should probably change that statistic to 2001+ you forgot to include me .... Good luck to you as well!

Hi Mary good for you!!! Take your time and it will happen. It seems that I recieved more calls before I had even gotten my stamp. Now nothing. You have a good attitude and a wide variety of experience. Things will start happening.

Thanks...I try...

I am sure I missed the boat a bit with the Real Estate boom ending now but...I was in Canada oblivious to what was going on (that is my only defence). I am a native Californian who made the mistake of a life time and moved to Ontario Canada for 6 years. What the heck was I thinking ? I am back where I belong ...saturated Notary Loan Signing Agent market and all! he he he
