Business Cards wanted
My husband and I are in the process of ordering new business cards. We are redesigning the layout and wanted to see some examples of how others in this industry are. If some of you could fax us your card, we will be greatly appreciative. We will not duplicate your card, we are simply looking for inspiration. 1-866-684-7477
Thanks,
Geno and LeeAnn

Have you looked at vistaprint.com ? They have a lot of examples and cost is very low.

With Vista Print, it could take over a week for shipping. I went to Office Depot and their price was better and done within 3 days. They were also cheaper based on the cost per card.

Sam's club has 1000 blank matte card stock for around $6.00. If you have a color inkjet or laser jet you can print them yourself. Free software at Avery.com(the big label company.). This way you can change them over time. I have personal ones, one for real estate and one for my notary business.

I think the stock for these 'homemade' business cards is way too thin. Makes the cards look homemade. And the printing and graphics just aren't what you would expect. Look at some real "professional" cards from business people. Crisp clear graphics, some with raised printing (offset and/or silk screened), glossy card stock, and the weight of the stock would choke a little laser or inkjet printer.

I tend to disagree on the card stock. You can get high quality card stock and it will run through an inkjet printer just fine. I run a 6 color photo inkjet and when you set it up for quality on a good stock paper, you get some crisp cards with substance to them.

PAW_FL makes a good point. I find the glossy business cards smear on an inkjet. Perhaps not on a color laser, but I do not have one.
Printing my own has worked well for me. I have changed my cards a few times. I have done a ton of business in real estate and notary area. I am in the burbs and most of the title company people are very nice. It's a black hole to know whether glossy and raised letter did not get you business, but I have gotten a fair amount.
I have the lastest hp7410 inkjet wireless.
I print my own color brochures too!
I use matte on the business card and matte card stock on the brochures. Sometimes I go to UPS when they have a color copy sale on and have the color brochure copied onto their glossy brochure paper.
I have a wireless laptop connected to a wireless printer. Thus, I tweak my designs while I watch tv. I also made personal cards for all my relatives and other brochures etc. Once you get the hang of it, it is easy.
