Closeline...
I just checked e-mail to find a closing in my (general) area for Monday. They want you to respond if you are available and tell them your fee. How can you determine this if you know nothing about the close??? I just responded with my fee and the automatic message was "Thank you Cheryl we will contact you by phone if we select you to do this closing" There's no space to ask them what this loan is! grrr To me that's the easy way of them practicing bottom fishing!

Hi Charm,
I just wrote about this yesterday and you'll find it a little further back in the posts. One person responded that she put in $175 for a fee and figured that would cover all costs. I had one yesterday and put in $150, figuring like you, that if they called and it was a piggyback I'd negotiate at that point. They never did call and then later I got another email that looked like it was for the same exact closing a day later, that I couldn't take.
FYI, I did look at their contract that I signed and they don't pay if the loan rescinds or doesn't fund.

Don't worry...
someone will respond that they will do it for $50.00 or less and they'll get it. I've never, ever got called for a closeline closing.

Happens to me all the time. Usually, even seconds after I receive the email, I try to respond but it is already taken. When I have had the opportunity to bid ( I think that is what they do, accept the lowest bid for the job) I bid $100-$150, and I have not yet had a taker. This has been going on about a year now, never done a closing for them. I think you're right about the bottom phishing.
