County
How do I find out a "county"? I did a closing last night, but I don't know what county it is. How would I do a search?

When I need to get a correct county. I go the the Unites States Postal Service website.
http://www.usps.com/
Go to 'Find a Zip Code' Type in the Address and hit submit A 'Mailing Industry Information' link will appear..Click on that and it will show Carrier Route, County, etc..
Hope this helps!

Why not start by asking the borrower,If in doubt,I ask.
But every state is different. . . . . . . .

Agree w/Art
The description of the property is included in the mortgage/deed of trust. Sometimes the County appears within the first couple of pages.

One quick way - I go to Google and type in *LaGrange County Texas*
The first couple of hits will give me the answers.

OK, I was soppose to go to their house, which has the county, but the it changed to where he works. You have to notorize where you are, that is where I'm having the problem.
