County is wrong on acknowledgments/jurats

I'm doing a signing tom. am and just got all the docs. On the acknowledgments and jurats the county is stated as Napa (where loan originated) but I'm in LA county. Can I cross it out and have the bo's initial?

Last week I received docs where the trust deed had the wrong county so I went to you all to help me out and you did! I crossed it out and put in the correct county and initialized.

Thanks very much. This is a great resource.

As it is your notary certificate the borrowers do not initial the corrections. You are the only one that needs to initial corrections on the certificates.

The county must be where you are doing the signing.

But I can cross out Napa and write Los Angeles on the acknowledgement for the Trust Deed and the jurat for the Name Affidavit?

Thanks Syvia - I've been sitting here sweating bullets - I'm new at this - if you couldn't tell.

Yes, if the certificates say County of Napa and you are doing the signing in Los Angeles county, you would line through Napa, correct it to Los Angeles and initial the change.
