I got email the other day supposely from my dsl supplier, stating that my email account was on hold and also that my password was changed. It had an attachment which my anti virus would not allow me to open. I did eventually call my dsl supplier and they checked my acct. and the email address of the person who sent me the email and they said to look out for emails like this because this was not sent from them. They also put a block on email address.

Are you insane?

You really need a crash course in how to recognize emails that have the potential to destroy your computer. I really didn't think there were still people left who would fall for the "there is a problem with your account, please log in here" phisihing scams, they're as old as dirt.

Unless you're darn sure who it is from, NEVER open attachements on your email. You should thank your lucky stars that your antivirus caught it, otherwise you'd probably be spending a couple of hundred dollars to have your computer repaired and your hard drive wiped clean.

Just read an article that says this is a worm that is affecting the whole country and even Germany right now. You may get some from FBI, CIA or one that says it has pics of Paris Hilton (oh joy).

It's the Sober worm, I think...my av says it's W32/Sober.AH.worm virus - I am about to smother in this bug - over 1400 messages today.

I wish that sober rascal would get drunk and leave us alone.
