Faxing Notary Commisson to SS's

Is this usual? I usually get work from TC's; SS's are new for me, so I was somewhat surprised that they wanted this faxed to them (along with bond, W9, etc. which didn't surprise me) - it seems like a secuity problem to me. Thanks

I don't understand why faxing a copy of your commission to an SS would be a "security problem"!! Your commission is a public record. And considering that an SS is taking on the liability of assigning work to a NOTARY signing agent, how else would you prove you are a Notary Public? (This is not to be confused with sending a copy of your stamp, which in most states you cannot provide except for notarial functions.)

Faxing a positive

Seems TC is careful and doing it homework on you. Likely someone you want to work for long term.
