Get real; now c'mon ........ !!

Hi all,

The gall of some people (or rather some signing services) I tell you !! I got a call at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon for a signing today in a suburb northwest of me (I am in the northwest suburbs of Detroit). Said that I was available which I was. Anyway, allegedly the docs would be emailed to me no later than three p.m. and the borrowers wanted to commence signing no later than 4:00 p.m. Well that's just super !! Traffic to this suburb to the northwest of me is just horrific from like 2:30 p.m. to 7: 30 p.m. !! It probably would take me at least forty-five minutes to get there, under the best of circumstances., if not more. And what guarantee did I have that the docs would actually arrive by 3:00 p-m. ? Past experience did not enable me to view this email scenario in a very positive light.

I don't remember how we left this, but I must say I never heard back from them, which I suppose is probably to my benefit.

When I get a call like that, I will only do if they email the docs right then. And it is down the street from me. Even then it would be very close.Been burned too many times where I don't do any last minute signings like that anymore.

I have a problem with last minute signings that isn't right next door. It is far to stressful and they can't or won't pay enough for that.

I received a call from a company Tuesday night wanting to know if I could do a closing 45 minutes from me with e-docs. They called me at 6:15 and wanted to know if I could be there at 6:30! What a hoot! I wonder if the ss had on a watch or a clock in her office.
I don't mind the last minute closings, but that was a little ridiculious. Nope, I didn't go.

I agree! Had 2 messages on cell phone on Halloween evening at 5:30 to do closing at 6:30. I didn't catch it until 8:00.Wonder if they found anyone....NOT!

Ted, you could have told them that the only way you could guarantee the signing is a) the docs are sent NO later than 2 p.m. and/or b) the borrowers come to you and be there at 4 p.m. LOL!!

Seriously, though, even if the signing is in my own zip code, don't know if I could have made it by 4 p.m. and printed two sets of docs, if docs did not arrive until 3 p.m.

Re: Dorothy - it was in Waterford.......

And you know what the traffic is like from Troy to Waterford. And from what I was told (several months ago by a Waterford resident) the "afternoon rush" starts at 2:30 p.m. and runs until 7:30 p.m. !! M-59 is a slightly mobile parking lot during that stretch of time !!

Don't forget that companies in california assume that pacific time works for the whole country
