Good News - Bad News

I just received a sign-up pkg. from a SS in IN. The good news is they pay $75 for overnighted docs w/ junk docs (approx 12 pgs) faxed. The bad news is they pay only $10 - yes, that's $10 for emailed docs.

To top it all off they require fax backs, pay only $50 for a no-sign and have you sign a silly non-compete.

No Thanks!

You mean you didn't jump at the chance to be paid a whole $10 for edocs! LOL

I hear you!

I"m seeing a trend where the SS's are starting to demand more for less. It must be that they are losing business left and right. I've had some pretty silly offers of late and i just can't afford to take them on.
The latest....travel almost 120 miles rt, call from signing table afterward, fax all notarizations, wait for instructions to send pkg back. But wait! There's more!!! They will bestow upon me the absorbent fee of $100.00!!! Act now!

Re: I hear you!

You too, huh? LOL! I'm ready to head to Starbucks for the strongest thing they've got this morning!
I just can't figure out WHY you didn't jump at that exorbitant pay! LOL
I think you may be right that they are losing business and that's why they are offering such pissy fees! What happens when they lose more since the good notaries won't accept the assignments and they end up having to have jobs done twice?

A refi *plus* a 275 mile RT drive for $50...

...and no, I didn't leap at the opportunity. The caller thought they would sneak one by me by simply asking if I would go to such-and-such a town. I didn't recognize it, so I asked what county and he knew the jig was up.

did they mention that you also must make a borrower copy of those overnighted docs? I don't work for Statewide but I work directly for their same clients and I don't have to do those fax backs. Oh by the way, these packages are on the large side as all the initial disclosure docs are also included.

Hmm

Edocs: $10

then tell them the following is optional

Paper $10
Toner $10
Electricity $10
Insurance $10
Borrowers Copy $15 for paper or $10 for CD

or they can pay the group discount rate of $30 instead...

Danny
