Help???? HP 4240n?

Does anybody know if you can use an HP 4240n to print mortgage docs and set it up to change paper as needed???? If not,do you have any suggestions for a good heavy duty printer?

Thanks
Tammy

Look at the HP 1520 tn, I, as well as others on this site use it. Two trays plus by-pass. The T stands for twin paper trays, The N stands for network. Do a price check on-line, I paid $550 from CA.

Can it print the pdf docs and differentiate between legal and letter side pages as needed?

There are plenty out there that will. I have a brother 8820 d that does. Dell 1600n does. As well as other Hps. sometimes you can buy them refurbished for cheaper.

Is there an exact specification word that I'm looking for, something that I can scroll through easy and find, or do you really have to dig?

It depends on the printer does it have two trays? or the optional second or third trays. Alot of the printers will have them listed as accessories for them. Sometimes they are listed in the specs sometimes not. I am afraid you will have to do a little research on whatever printer you decide on.

My father in law bought us the hp4240, it has one tray and a manual feed tray but hp could not help me with printing my docs on differetn size paper as needed. I'm trying to get it set up for example if I had 100 pages I needed printed, maybe half of those may need to be on legal size and the other half on letter size paper..I want the printer to print the size it needs, some sort of sensor to tell it which size it needs and when.... Does that make sense?

Yes it does make sense. I understand you perfectly. Like I said though there are others out there that will print them like that. There are people here that use Hps and others who use the Brother machines. It all boils down to what you prefer brand wise. And what you can afford. Smiley

It will auto select letter and legal and it will print PDF files. Call HP and talk to the home office side of the sales team.

The previous message refers to the 1520 tn. It will do exactly as you described. How do I know? I use this printer. You can get this printer as 1520 t without the network n if you want.
