Internet Explorers
I have all the latest anti-spyware tools, Norton Antivirus, pop up stopper, etc., on my computer, but was still getting bogged down frequently and getting alot of virual infected emails. (No.. I NEVER open any of them). I switched my internet explorer over to Mozzilla firefox and I am amazed at the speed of my computer, and guess what? No more bogus emails. I was not aware there were other internet explorers out there.. I thought what came on my computer I was stuck with. It was very easy to switch over, and I did it all my myself! (That was an amazing feat in itself). PDF files downloaded in record time, and even Swiftview (which should be called Slowview) uploaded in lightning speed. I'm not trying to advertise Mozzilla or any other internet explorer, but it certainly has improved the speed of my computer.

I never heard of that explorer. Where did you find it and for the technically challenged, how easy were the download directions? TIA

I went to my search bar and typed it in. The downloads were REALLY easy.. if I can do it, so can you!

PJM,
Did it save all your settings? Was anything amiss from before when you downloaded it? I'm a little hesitant about just doing this.

It imported all of my favorites (Now called bookmarks), and arranged them in alphabetical order! After I installed the program, I did a scandisk & defrag, and I am truly amazed. My "Mr. Wizard" (as in computer genius) told me about this program.

Except the pop up blocker works a little too well...
and I have a problem printing fed ex labels through Firefox. I went to tools and then allowed pop ups from fed ex.com, but it still won't work.
When I print out fed ex labels, I have to go to IE.

Re: Except the pop up blocker works a little too well...
Try: Go to the Tools> Options page, click on Web Feature, click on Advanced under Javascript, and go through the options there. Not sure that's the problem, but could be. Also, what do you have for Load Images? Try the other option. If those don't help, let me know and I give you a URL where you can get some knowledgable help.

I've been reading lots of industry buzz about how FireFox is a much more secure browser, so I installed it a few days ago. Looks/works much like IE, but also has some neat features, such as the option to open new windows in tabs along the top of the browser window. That's very handy for me, because one of my biggest broswer peeves it having too many windows open, which makes them "tile" in the bar at the bottom — very hard to flip back and forth. I haven't been using it long enough to experiment with doc viewers and such, but I figure if it's becoming a mainstream browser option, there must be a reason.
