Is There A Conspiracy......
Among the TCs and SSs?? It seems that they have ALL begun insisting on lowering our fees at the same time! Hmmm

Kinda seems that way, doesn't it? This is the only job I've ever had where I've gotten a pay cut instead of raises!

It's called "supply and demand"...the more NSA's churned out by the NNAand the higer the interest rates, the lower the demand. That's capitalization for you!

I'm not surprised at all to find it has already started. Personal opinion I think SS are on their way out.
I know that some medical billing companies are going overseas also.

I know of two SS's that followed right behind Vital and announced similar pay structures and NO SHOW or REFUSAL policies.

As I told Vital when they called yesterday. They may be restructuring their fees. I am NOT restructuring mine.

that is one big AMEN!! Beth!!!!! and what is this about a "refusal" policy???? we have the right to refuse if we are being underpay...what part of this do they not understand???
anyone...please explain that policy! geezzzz getting penalize for voicing my concern!

Reply by LawrenceOK on 11/12/05 5:59pm Msg #76179
Dee the "REFUSAL POLICY" is, SS will not pay more then a trip fee for your time if, the borrower refuse's to sign the docs, and some SS's are going as far as to include the borrowers using their right to recinde.

Re: Is There A Conspiracy......LawrenceOK
Hi Lawrence,
Hope everything is OK in OK. A little joke!
Yes, sure looks like they are all hopping on the bandwagon. I suppose all we can do is just sit back and wait for the fireworks to start when they begin to see the damage a $35 buck notary can cause. Like I have said so many times before "you might as well send them $35 bucks" a lot like a charity, just no tax deduction.
It's basic math the cheaper fees go the more work they will have to do. Haste makes waste! You could run your butt off and you will never see a dime for it. When the bargain notaries start to get the drift they are PAYING to work for these ss and making nothing maybe they will "wise-up." All of us that have been doing this a while know what it cost us to do business. There is NO WAY these new fees could show a profit and pay the bills.

Re: Is There A Conspiracy......LawrenceOK
Absolutely Correct Ted. I have SA's coming into my hometown because these lowballing SS's won't pay my base fee. These SA's are traveling 30+ miles 1-way for $40-$50 bucks. Talk about losing money.

Re: Is There A Conspiracy......LawrenceOK
I have already had the pleasure of re-signing the borrower on two of these. I told the SS they should have accepted my fee in the first place, it would have been cheaper. And just a note for you sa's in my area that are doing this for EXTRA CASH, Both Wal Mart SC's in Norman are always hiring, and they have flexible schedules for those of you with little ones at home.

Lawrence,
Trust me, this just the beginning of the problems for SS, TC/Escrow companies. I sure hope they have a LOT of insurance! Ouch! in store for them. Just think the really bad weather hasn't set-in yet!! What are they going to do when they need a notary to "Mush" to a signing, don't think the discount notaries will be willing to do it- that's very hard work.

Hey Ted & Carolyn, how far are you two willing to mush, I had a friend that lived in Co. Springs by the dog track.. I love that area in the winter.

Re: Lawrence
Colorado Springs is Ted's neck of the woods -- not sure how far from the race track she is. The Springs is about 80 miles from me.
I do *mush* when we go to our cabin in the winter. We can only get about 3 miles from it and then have to snowmobile/sled in. I don't know how many people remember 5-7 years ago when the Airforce A-10 pilot committed suicide and flew his plane into the mountain range and they searched and searched and never found the bombs he was carrying ?? -- our cabin is right at the base of New York Mountain he crashed into. And still no bombs found.

We more or less slip & slide here. More of an ice-mix then snow. I think I would rather mush then skate.

Re: Lawrence
I think that all the Colorado transplants that have never driven in snow, should be required to take "snow driving 101" -- one of our biggest problems is with the 4WDs that believe they can go anywhere and do anything -- now I drive one myself, and yes, you can go more places, but when it comes to stopping, you can't stop you any better than a plain ol' car.

Have you Noticed
that you are getting more email that if you don't do it right your fees will be reduced. IF their paying $35.00 a signing they not going to get an experienced SA that knows what they are doing.

Re: Have you Noticed
Yep, noticed that! They can keep their damn e-mail and the $35-50 fees. I figure if they want to TELL me what my fee will be, then they had better start withholding tax's and paying for Wkrs-Comp.
