Low Balling
I can't beleive it. A title company asked me to do a overnight closing for $40. I didn't know it at first, when she gave me the address, I told her the street wasn't that far and maybe I could fit it in. Then she told me the amount they were willing to pay. I kinda chuckled and said I don't walk out the door for less than $$. Said she get back to me, she didn't. As it turns out, the street is that far, but the address is. Glad she didn't call back. But, someone took it.

I had a call from 24-7 or 24/7 Not sure which one. But the caller ID showed Harper Construction ??? It was an e-doc refi in Duncan, Ok approx. 165 mi RT. Quoted my fee of $225 and got the old "I'll have to get that approved" never heard back from them. I am the closest notary to this city (that accepts edocs) and I thought my fee was more then fair. (if I am wrong, someone please tell me) Any other notary that accepted this signing will travel an addtional 60 miles RT for less money.

I got a call last night from E-Trade mortgage, asked me if I could do a signing at 9am this morning. I told them I was available and was this e-mailed docs as I don't get Fedex or UPS until around noon on Saturday. They said docs were going to the borrower. I said I could do it and my fee for that area was $100. They said they couldn't pay that much. I asked what they could pay, and she said "We can only pay $45" Needless to say I let them know I could not do a signing for that amount.
I wonder if she found someone.
