I just got a call from them for a signing this afternoon. They were going to call me back if they could get it for later, as I am already booked. Did you accept one for Madison?

I got an e-mail from them on a Sunday to do a signing on Monday - 50+ miles one way. I wasn't familiar with this company and suggested they might want to use someone closer since I would charge extra for mileage. I even gave them several names and profiles from NotRot that would only be 10 miles away and probably cheaper due to closeness. They were insistant that I do the signing and basically offered to pay whatever I felt was necessary.

The end result was that I turned the signing down and they got one of their "regular Kansas City people" to do it . They told me that in St. Louis travel of an hour one way was not considered "extra travel or mileage" and didn't usually pay extra for it. They also threw in a little snide remark about me being in the boonies. I didn't comment back since I am actually in Kansas City and don't consider that the boonies.

This all took place via several e-mails - not one phone call. They may be a good company but my experience was a little strange I thought.

Impressive profile Leslie, which may be why they really wanted you to do the signing Smiley
They found me at 123, we had a pleasant conversation and she met my fee without hesitation. Hope they call back.

Thanks Charm. I'm glad things went well for you. Maybe my experience would have been different/better if he had called me rather than e-mailed.

Pays on time. But look for fine print for "No Sign" fee. Notorious for "back date" requests. Their come back on that is "It's done all the time. How many notaries do you know who have really gotten in trouble for back dating?"

I've had a call from them but I didn't do the closing. It was scheduled for one time and then changed several time after that. The right hand did not know what the left hand was doing! I was really glad schedule would not allow me to do the closing. I don't know about other notaries but I'm too busy to do the time switch thing over and over again. They could not even tell me if it were a single refi or what!

Well, they moved the time and I'm printing now, so I'll report my experience tomorrow.
