Pre-Notification of Backdate....argghhh!
This is a first for me and I thought I would warn fellow notaries in CO about the call I just rec'd. Lender: ' Hi, I'm looking for a friendly notary for an appt on Monday.' Me--'Great, you've found one. Tell me about your appt. ' Lender; ' I need someone to backdate to today.' Me --'You're not looking for a friendly notary, you're looking for an illegal-friendly notary. Good luck and thanks for calling.' He laughed, but is THAT the new trend, planning AHEAD of time to backdate?? Unreal... and you know the borrowers are all on board...probably leaving for the holiday, and don't want to switch up their plans.
Sadly, I've worked for these guys in the past, and have never had this kind of request. Yuck. Happy Thanksgiving folks.

I guess the LO's are realllllly trying to get their last day for commissions in. They KNOW this is illegal and it still amazes me that they still try.
Borrowers could care less. All they hear is: "Sir, if we don't back date your docks we'll lose your lock on your loan and you wouldn't want your interest rate going up, would you?"
