Question from Lasnights Signing

There is a page in the documents that says Escrow Certification at the top then needs to have a box checked as to who did the signing ie: signed and notarized by then it lists

Escrow comp
Independebt agent employed by escrow comp
Independent agent employed by lender

then it has Escrow officer for signature di i sign this?
Also there is a form for identification it says to write down two forms of ident and numbers. Do I sign this?
TIA

You sign the ID form, make sure it was completed. Check with the title or SS regarding the other form.

Re: Question from Last nights Signing

You're NOT the escrow officer. Leave that one alone. Assuming you looked at 2 forms of ID as requested, you SHOULD sign the ID form certifying (not notarizing) that the ID information you've taken is correct.

You should check off the appropriate box for Independent Agent employed by ? (whomever hired you)

For the second part, signing agents are not escrow officers. Is the ID form separate from the second part or is this a third question, if so, you are to fill out any id request forms since you are suppose to confirm that the borrowers are who they are before you start the signing.

Also, whenever in doubt, reach out to your contact person who hired you for the assignment.

The Identification form is a Customer Identification (Form 5013) I did get two forms of ID from her and recorded them on this sheet.

THe other says at the bottom

I am fully aware that neither the broker, real estate agent, loan officer, nor an independent agent employed by the broker can sign the borrower in this transaction.

THen where you sign it says escrow officer signature

You are not the escrow officer so I would not advise you to sign.
I do not sign any where on the docs which state Settlement Agent or Escrow Officer.

Good, as noted, best to reach out to your contact. It lets them know you are concerned about doing a good job. I know my follow up and questions with the companies that have hired me has helped build up relationships/business faster than expected.
