Request For Anon. Posters
This is the first time I have posted on this subject. To avoid confusion in the threads, could you please put something like Anon1/CA in the Author line so that we can at least tell the difference between postings. I understand the desire to remain anon., but it is really getting quite confusing reading the threads. Thanks!

Unfortunately, we do not have the option to add to the anonymous Author line.
But we can add it to the body
Anonymous too!

Yes - you can change your anon handle. It will become your forum alias.
Use MY PROFILE.

WEll, I know I've said this once ...........
......... But it slid down and off the page so fast. maybe I'll do this again for effect ......
"Well there is alot of Identity theft going on these days."
Let's face facts here. Identity theft is REAL in the REAL world, but it's hardly an issue when YOU need to be logged in to post anything here, and therefore, nobody is going to be posting here under YOUR user name and confusing anyone reading the post on who is speaking.
"Why the Attitude?"
An interesting question.
But, then again, so is "What do you have to hide?"
OK, I'm not really giving the anonymous posters here a hard time, but IF you have nothing to hide, and should have no fear of somebody duplicating your identity here ........... what is it you're so fearful of about using your name (or USER name as it were)?
Word to the wise, on an internet online forum, nobody can really hurt you with the little electronic dots forming words, and you'll probably never get any due respect in your opinion until you use your own name.
Note here, that if the sarcasm or belligerence level of Anonymous posters is at least 50% higher than all others, there is NO mistake in the calculation, or reason why it's true. Being Anonymous gives some people the only strength to speak out they will ever have, and also the reason to abuse it.
There's no real reason for that, of course, but that doesn't make it any less true.
How anonymous do you need to be if your forum user name is "CathyCA-Notary" (Lordy, there isn't anyone post by the name, is there??)
Think about it, OK?

To address the issue of remaining annonymous....
Maybe some people see it more of an issue of feeling safe to say what they want and not an issue of being a coward. This is a cut throat world/industry (as demonstarted by the poor folks who post here wanting advice for the first time and get slammed.) I'm not saying people shouldn't be honest but I think some feel it is a way for their inner bully to come out.

Horse pucky! If you have something to say, then say it and stand up for what you say. There are many of us who are open as to who we are, and we don't necessarily hold back either. Oh, we may not engage in name calling, flaming, and other childish acts (okay, some do), but that is a good thing. I always show who I am. I stand by my words and proud to have written them. That's one thing that makes this country great.

Paul said the above...and I second that. And, when I say the wrong thing, I am sure it is not going to kill me to slither up and admit it.

Do you mean because Paul said "Horse Pucky?" Bad PAW, bad notary, bad, bad notary!
Aw c'mon...it feels good to "out" yourself. I personally believe if you are going to be successful at marketing in the new economy of national title company/lender finance, you have got to let go of being afraid.
Who do you think a seasoned agent is more likely to help out via email or on the phone...someone who brands themselves, or someone who calls up / write and says "hi...i am anon on not rot. can you help me?"
I have helped at least four new NSAs through their first signings. They were all branded on the boards and I had a feel for who I was helping. Someone who calls and I have never heard of before...not that interested.

I am new to the business and am trying to absorb and learn as much as I can...some of the responses from the "veterans" are absolutely arogant. The saying goes "there are no stupid questions"...I have read a lot of comments where the responders are almost mocking the statement or question being asked. If it makes people feel more comfortable to remain anonymous then let it go...what is the big deal?

Re: To CCEJA_CA
I never said it was a "big deal" and I also said that I understood the reason behind remaining anon. My point is to the confusion of the threads. What is the "big deal" to at least put something identifying next to anon and the state so that we can answer specific questions. That doesn't identify the person it just clarifys the author for easier reading of the posts.

**If it makes people feel more comfortable to remain anonymous then let it go...what is the big deal? **
You are correct from your perspective.
I speak from my own personal interest in continuing to learn.
I just don't want to stop caring about this forum. The plethora of anons make me not care...perhaps they make those I learn from not care, as well. I believe that the good ones will leave and stop sharing when it's too hard to keep up with the reading of the threads.
Remember - I have a right to my opinion, just like the hidden / multi-duplicated ad nauseum anons do. So, my friend, please do not flame me because I have an opinion and because I feel differently than you do...and because I find the Anons to be tiresome.
I learn from this forum because there are people who post here with a lot of experience - I respect them and I learn from. Anons water it down.
The reasons are:
1) They are takers - they seldom contribute - They just want info. When they have it they do not give back.
2) It's hard to keep up with the threads.
Sign me: BrendaTx - Not Anon but also having a right to an opinion differing from yours and the Anon's opinion...What's the big deal with that?

Re: To address the issue of remaining annonymous....
Hard to keep up with the threads? You pick a topic and read the threads. Now something like this topic you can pretty much peg as an opinion only, blow your horn, non-sense topic. If you want info only, only read the info threads. I can't see it being that hard. If Anons are keeping people away then you vets don't have as tough a skin as you claim.

Re: Right on Paul ...
I also stand by what I say.
The reason I quit linking my NotRot profile to my name was I felt I was not seeing an accurate record of the number of hits I was getting from SSs and TCs. It wasn't because I am was trying to remain Anonymous. While I know it's still possible for NotRot posters to still see it, I now know that each hit isn't because someone clicked on the link because they either agreed or disagreed with something I said.

Absolutely Paul...
I stand behind what I write also and I'm not afraid to be called on it. I don't need to hide my identity to let the "inner bully" out as another anon posted. That in itself is admitting what a coward they are.

Re: Absolutely Paul...
Another cowardly excuse for posting Anon is that you don't want a SS or TC to identify you.
Sheesh, if that were the case, none of the vets would have any work -- the difference being, you can post your comments and complaints about a SS or TC without being anonymous, but the SECRET is not to identify the company by name. You will rarely, if ever, see an *oldie* posting a company name when relaying an incident. It's usually an Anon himself who asks tht the name be publicly posted -- thankfully, most of us are professional enough not to fall for Anon's bait

Thanks for the post Colleen.
Brenda had some great comments - the bottom line is the "anon's" have no face, no personality, no recognizable identity. In her words...they are "vampires".
When, pray tell, have any of you all read a response by "anonymous" and trusted the information here?????
In a community, or family, of NSA's it's important to be able to say..."oh, so-and-so has responded to my question and by their prior posts and identity they know what they're talking about - I trust their knowledge - so I can be confident that this is good information".
How do you know that any one of the Anonymous on the board isn't just pulling your chain for amusement purposes (as "anon by choice" said earlier...eg. the comment...oh, goodie...it's so easy to get the vet's riled up") For cryin out loud...who posts here to get someone "riled up"???? Anons do. For their own amusement.
Don't trust posts by Anonymous. They don't exist and they don't care - at all.

The community/family thing is what I am talking about. Thanks, Sue. It's like in real time...you build relationships. Who wants to give/take in a community where there is not a reason for the relationships?
