Snow Chains and 4WD
Received a call from a SS last night at 6:00pm, they needed a notary to go to a certain town for an appointment at 9:30am the following morning. I had heard of the town but wasn't sure how far it was from me. I tell her my fee, she says ohhhh...I'm not authorized that amount, so I lower it a tad.... she says I'll go down stairs and see if they (the powers that be, I suppose)will take that. I tell her good deal I'm going to go online and check out just where the town is. She says she'll call back in 1/2 hr. I find out it's about 45 miles north east of me and it's in the mountains... and I mean WAY up there 10,000feet. It's snowing there right now and the only road from me to it, is CLOSED for the winter. I call back and of course their offices are closed. I thought... pheewwwww... not going out on that one if theu tripled the fee. To my surprise she calls back and says... (all proudly).. I got the fee authorized. I told her.. .. I'm sorry but there's no way I can go there, I looked it up and it's off of a highway that is closed and as of todays storm they are warning anyone going in that area needs snow chains and 4-wheel drive. ..........Geez..... I couldn't believe it... these SS have no idea of where their SAs are located and where the town or city they call the SA to go to are located. Why is it they don't look up on Yahoo Maps or Mapquest prior to calling the SA? I suppose that entails just TOO much work on their end. Anyway.. naturally I flatly REFUSED to go and especially for that measley fee. Just wanted to vent a little... sorry for ranting...
