Tomorrow Delivery of Faxbacks
PITA SS in their 3rd TC call today "just checking" called one-half before scheduled signing.
SS: How'd the signing go? me: It hasn't. SS: Hasn't? What happened? me: Well, for one thing, the signing isn't scheduled for another half hour. SS: Oh, [childish giggle] -- I didn't realize your time was so much different than us.
[are SAs the only ones who were taught that there are different time zones ?? There are two U.S. time zones to the east of me and two U.S. time zones to the west of me -- why do I know what time it is on each coast including Hawaii, Alaska and in between?]
SS: well, make sure you call and fax me umpteen docs, and make sure you call the LO as well. me: When you receive my faxed invoice tonight you will know the signing went off without a hitch. At that time, it will probably be 10:00 or 11:00 tonight - your time. If you or the LO don't hear from me during the signing, then there were no problems. I'll leave it to you to call the LO and possibly get him out of bed to advise signing is complete. What is that you say?--if the signing is at 4:00, why am I not getting back to you until 8:00 or 9:00 MY time? Well, I have other SSs and TCs who have also requested my services for tonight. I will get the package dropped off by 6:00 for 10:00 delivery tomorrow morning. That means when I'm just getting up, several pots of coffee will have already have been consumed in your and TCs time zones and the docs will just be in the process of being signed for at the TC. Now, if you would rather me fax all the required pages and forego tonight's pickup for tomorrow delivery, thus pushing the delivery to possibly Monday because I don't know if anyone will be in the office on Saturday, then I will be more than happy to fax the required docs for an added faxing service charge.

nice to know we are not alone!
your post made my day! i can never figure out how i am meant to be at the signing at 5:00, yet they want me to make the only fed ex flight out of here by 7, but i have to go back to the office to fax back the gazillion pages, oh and wait for an approval call, and then split the package, and then race back the 12 miles to fed ex at the airport, which was, by the way, right next to the borrowers house, so i could have dropped it right then. oh i guess i could have stopped at kinko fed ex and faxed for $1 a page and eat up my fee that the gas didnt take. then the next morning call of, "the docs arent here". makes me want to pull my hair out!

Ditto! I also do closings for a particular ss who wants to "hold my hand" every step of the way, and then fax back almost the entire package, then I'm suppossed to wait for them to call me back so I can drop the docs. Frustrating? You betcha! Funny though... when they call me for another closing, I accept it!

PJM says *Funny though... when they call me for another closing, I accept it! *
I'll usually give a babysitting company two chances. This is *our* business. The first time, okay, I allow myself to jump through some of their hoops to prove myself. I don't see any significance of having to do it for each additional signing from the same company.

I hear ya! I got ticked after someone told me that I needed to fax immediately after I called (by instruction) from the signing table after closing. YOU'LL GET DOCKED IF YOU DON"T CALL US FROM THE SIGNING TABLE!!!! After they get done docking for crap, I'd owe them money. What BS! I calmly said "You be lucky to get the fax in the morning as I am still WORKING!!!"

Read the instructions
I just print extra copies of the faxbacks or photocopy them. I write on the top, fax back copy. I have the borrower sign. I drop the back, fax back the faxback copies, keep them a day or two to make sure the fax went through and then shred them. At 50cents a mile to drive your care 24 miles round trip is $12.50. You can make a lot of copies for that. Plus, your time.
Never had a bank, title co or signing service complain. A number of them know I do this because I tell them I just dropped your package and I will fax back you copies at 10pm when I get home.
