common courtesy out the window
Is the reason that kids today don't have respect or common courtesy is because their parents either didn't teach them, or the parents don't have it themselves?
I got a call yesterday from a young lady needing a general notarization. I quoted my fee with travel. She said she would have to call me back. About one-half hour later, after price shopping, she called and said the price was okay. We set up the appointment for last night, but an hour later I had to reschedule it for today because I accepted a signing where the BOs were not flexible with their time -- I know, general notarization with travel vs. title company -- what to do?--what to do ?? She said she had no problem with rescheduling it for today.
That little voice in my head told me to call right before leaving to make sure she remembered I was coming.
me: "Hi, I'm just headed out the door and will be there in about half an hour."
her: "Ooooooh, I already took care of it."
me: "Were you planning on calling to cancel the appointment?"
her: "No."

I would have been furious. If you had gone all the way to her and she had already had it done and didn't bother to call. You are right Common Courtesy is a fast dwindling thing.

Was your next question "Where should I send your invoice, then?" ...........
You DID, of course, specify that making an appointment required calling to cancel or there would be one, didn't you?
I know, that's one you'll think about now. I did the same thing before it happened to me ........ at one time.
Now it's ALWAYS done.
No, you won't collect every one, but you will collect the ones who can't "run fast enough"!
