dual-tray printer Help!

I just purchased the HP 1320tn. I was told by Hp that it can go from one tray to the next, but then not back to the first tray again. Is there a printer out there that can do that "smart printing" for a loan doc package to go back and forth and back again??

I don't know who told you that, but they are sooooooo wrong!!! If you have the dual trays properly configured, and the software, such as Adobe Reader, directs the printer to select a certain size page, it will work just fine mixing letter and legal. Just be advised that not all utility programs properly tell the printer what size to select. In those rare cases, you need to print everything on legal size.

A question about printing everything in legal size.

One client I have told me up front it was OK to print all in legal size. It sure made the package a lot neater.

Others never specified. What's the norm? Can I do that every time? What does everybody think about ti compared to their experiences in the past?

The expense in added paper cost would be preferable in keeping the paper sizes separate!! :o]

When I first started, I did everything in legal size. Did it that way for years with no problem. Many companies still do not have any requirement for mixed size printing, but there are a few that do. And, as time marches on, I suspect that more and more companies will be requiring the ability to do mixed size printing.

I have the same printer (HP 1320tn) and I love it. Who ever told you that should read up on what he is selling.

"WYSIWYG"

I tell my clients, unless specified, "What You Sent Is What You Get".

I have the 1320tn as well and it auto selects letter and legal as you print. Works fine.
