your first time, do you remember?

I was sitting here reading , the new agents made me think about my first time signing.OMG that was a fear i've never felt before. the first time i did e-docs, the first for everything. my head hurt, my stomach was turning flips, i throw up i was a mess. and so any questions, even question i knew the answers to, but doubted myself. i prayed for help, and just so happen a notary friend of mine came by and asnwer all my questions. mind you i did not just jump into this, i was commissioned and certified and long time before my first signing. i made it, my first singing was over and i got the check. i'm ready to do this, it's not so bad. with many many loan signings under my belt i say to the new agents hang on in there, it's not so bad. i do thank my friends alice( the notary) and veronica for letting me do her loan. oh i almost forgot kelly robertson i took your class, i learned more then i thought. "a notary on the go". my husband would see your car and tell me i saw your teacher today.

I remember my first time, it was back in 2001, my husband (the love of my life, had just died and my stepdaughter's company had asled me to do a signing in the city where I still lived. It was a night,are/ They didn't send any instructions, and I didn't know there were a lot of fax back, so afther the signing I just sent the documents, boy did I catch heck. I cried for a week. They made me feel like I was the dumbest person in the world.

I work with at least 30 different SS and title companies now (don't work for her LOL) and not one of them has made me feel like they did.

Ah yes.. the first closing! I was so darn proud of me.. $50.00 in 3 hours and I thought I was doing good! The docs went to the borrower and I had no clue I didn't have to sign their set, too! (DAH!) Got home, called the ss and he walked me through the entire set of docs. We were on the phone for about 2 hrs. I do not remember his name or the name of the ss. Six yrs ago is a longgg time ago, and many, many signings ago.
Shoot, there wasn't such a duck as "e-docs" back when I started, and honestly, I don't remember doing so many faxes back as I have seen in the past 3 yrs.

My first signing was in 1993, sheesh! Nothing exciting about it because I had been in real estate so I knew the docs. No such thing as the internet, fax backs or anything. Just sign it up and drop it in the FedEx. I do remember one signing where the borrower had no ID. She had been a performer in India and all she had was an old newspaper flyer with her photo. Luckily she had her son and daughter there as credible witnesses. They had the proper ID at least!

Thank you, Avyril, for your kind words and the honorable mention!

I remember my first loan signing: I showed up at 9:30pm to 7 signers! Only 5 had proper ID and I had to wait for an hour for Credible Wits; the vesting was in Trust, I was supposed to use blue pen but started the loan out in black because I didn't read the closing instructions first; two signers barely spoke English, one was missing their right thumb and I couldn't remember what to do, another had only one "good" eye and was legally blind which made it difficult for him to sign on the line let alone the right line; another signer had a POA for her husband who was traveling but there was nothing in the instructions indicating I could use the POA, they needed to bring $6,500 to the deal to cover a prepayment penalty and did not have certified funds, I reached down to pet their Cocker Spaniel and she pee-peed on my shoe, their cats were on my lap, screaming kids were everywhere, two names were spelled differently than their ID and there was no one to call that late at night. And all for $50, but man-o-man, when I got that check, was I ever happy! Okay, okay,... I did embellish my story, just a little bit.
