A new trend ??
We all know *no confirmation, no signing* -- but is anyone else experiencing TCs (not SSs) calling to schedule signings on such and such day at such and such time, fee quoted is no problem as that is their normal fee, and then you never hear from them after the initial call -- no confirmation, no docs, no phone call to cancel -- NOTHING. ?? This has happened to me twice in the last two weeks -- both local companies.

Something like that...
I never not receive a confirmation but there is one SS that consistantly calls me weeks before a signing, emails the confirmation, and them almost always sends a cancellation email a few days before the signing. I think they hire me and then fish around for a cheper SA. I always work them around my schedule and never my schedule around them since they cancel so often.

Re: No ...
these are not cancellations after receiving confirmation, nor are they signing services. They have both been title companies asking if I was available, accepting my fee -- the signing is verbally set up over the phone, but the confirmation nor the docs ever arrive -- nor any verbal cancellation.

Re: No ...
I have an escrow company who does that to me, they call and set up the appointment, then no confirmation. I called them a short time later to have them send an email on the agreed fee and was told that no one has ever asked for a confirmation. I find that hard to believe, but I won't work without a confirmation. They did finally send me one.

Re: No ...
The bottom line is I'm a professional and expect the same professional courtesy I extend to SSs and TCs. It's not the SSs I'm having the problem with -- it's the TCs, who should not have to have professional courtesy explained to them.
Our fees are not price-fixed, which is illegal, or straight across the board. However, my TC fee is an *inclusive* fee, which is in-line with the fee the majority of TCs pay. Thinking back now, both of these calls, when asked what my fee was, I countered with *what are you authorized to pay?*
I deal with attorneys, judges and even politicians on a daily basis -- relationships where an oral contract is like a handshake. Considering the professions, I know that sounds like an oxymoron. When I commit to a signing, whether through a SS or TC, it's my oral contract/my handshake that I will do the job to the best of my ability.
These two TCs have displayed nothing but a complete lack of integrity, and yes, I now have TCs on my no-no list.

I've had this happen twice this week, from LFC. They called me for a signing. I agreed....then nothing? I called back spoke with people that don't know? On one of these when I checked their web site I had docs posted! (no email or any other kind of communication) BUT the docs were for a different town (Castle Rock) and a different deal entirely from what the scheduler told me. I've called back several times, (on my nickle) even called Linda McAfee the scheduling supervisor (got her voicemail) Still no input back from them? What is this? I can't accept a closing (I always ask for a confirmation) Then never hear from anyone (despite many phone calls on my part) again. Is this PROFESSIONAL?

Exactly my point. If we've agreed to a signing, why should *we* have to track down the confirmation and the docs? -- especially on our dime.
It's no wonder that some of the SS's babysit and handhold through the entire process -- because they are having to do the same thing to the TCs.
I posted last week where I got a call for another SA. If the SSs and TCs have all of us pulled up within a certain radius and looking at one name but calling someone else's phone number, I'm surprised we get any confirmation or docs.
