Back dating docs

A couple weeks ago I made some mistakes by having the spouse sign docs they shouldn't have. I am going to meet with the borrower tomorrow to make things right and I have a couple questions: For the docs that need notarized, is it ok for me to use the date of the initial signing since I really did meet with them and witness the signings that day? Or do I have to use tomorrow's date? Also, would you log these in your journal a second time? I want to be sure I follow all laws accordingly. I am in TX. Thanks for your help.

eXped - backdating is not accepted anywhere, even in Texas. (laugh inserted here).

No, it's not okay to to use the date of the initial signing. The borrowers are appearing in front of you as of the date they did appear. From the situation you described, you should log them in your journal a second time. You're situation sounds like a a re-draw of docs and the date should match as to when they appeared. Hope that helps.

That's what I thought and told the SS, too. I just wanted reassurance. Thanks for your response TitleGalCA.
