Does anybody have recommendation for a dual tray printer

That doesn't cost a fortune? One that is reasonable on toner too.

I need to get a dual tray printer, I even wouldn't mind one that does color but everything I have seen so far is very expensive.

Thanks,

Hi Kris,
I got my HP from cheaphpprinters.com. It is a refurbished 2200. For the second tray, I got that off of Ebay. Cheap HP Printers might have what your looking for. They also have the cartridges I need for it at half the price of Staples. I think the favorite new HP printer on this forum is the 1320tn. Just make sure when you're looking for a printer and it isnt already a dual tray, that a tray can be added on. Some printers you can't.

I just got the HP 1320, new in box, via ebay last week. I have then ordered part number: Q5931A (250-sheet paper tray) for about $151 with shipping.

Printer will come with the 49A toner cartridge which is good for about 3 refills at 2500 prints or so. If you can swing it, get the 49X toner catridge, its rated at around 6000 prints.

Not sure about this recommendation

Danny, has your second tray arrived and have you gotten it to work? From what others in the past have said, I thought you could not add a second tray to the HP1320. I purchased a HP1320tn which already has the second tray. Works great and I love it.

If you don't have a laser fax, I'd recommend that you get a 4 in one, I have a brother 8440, bought the 2nd tray, works great. I also have a hp220dt, I prefer the brother.

I LOVE my Brother HL 5170 DN, it cost 249.00, the toner is relatively inexpensive, it's reliable, dual tray auto duplex, PCL 6 compliant, and fast! JMO

Hi Bonnie,

How can you tell when a printer is PCL 6 compliant and what exactly does that mean?

Thanks

Last month I purchased a Brother HL 5140 with the second tray from newegg.com. It works great and the cost was under $250.

I also have the HP 4050 tn laser printer, and it's great. But I've had it several years and I don't know if this model can still be purchased new. Back then it retailed at about $1600 new. I bet it would be about one-fourth that price now.
