First loan signing question
I know every signing is different. But on your first one (when you were nervous) did you get questions that you did not know the answer to?
For the majority of you....do you find that most borrowers had no questions really about the docs? They had already gone over them with the lender and were ready to sign?

You need to know the docs to explain what they are. Any questions about their figures, etc during the signing have to be answered by their LO. There is a percentage that will ask questions that you can't answer because you are not a lawyer and cannot interpret or give advice. Always take your instruction sheet, it will have the LO or SS phone number to call in these cases.
Here's a website with the definitions, print and save! It's helped me out a few times and I'm experienced!
Good Luck

Thank you. However, I didn't see the website address on your post. Would you mind putting it on there again?
I am nervous about signing up with SS. I have passed the certification test through the NNA and have notarized "regular" stuff before but never loan docs. I have bought and read a course book on the subject. I have all of my supplies, equipment, insurance, bond, etc. I am just nervous I will get there and someone will ask me something I don't know.
Do I sound ready to you? Thanks again?

LOL! Everyone has to start somewhere! Just get familiar with the docs, know your state laws, take a deep breath and dive in!

My first signing was three sets of docs for a person who lived out of state, but worked in ca. What a reck I was, but all you do is study the docs the best you can, take a deep breath, and double check your work. I was fortunate, the bwr was great but the docs turned out to be a nightmare. bwr decided to sign but then realized figures were wrong and told me not to send them back. I called ss, tc, and lo. Finally got everything right. And this was all on the day of my daughters b-day. LO called me later and told me what a great job I did and thanked me for my efforts. Told me to send him an invoice and he paid promptly. going the extra mile has paid off for me. Just take great pride in what you're doing, do it well and professionally and you should succeed.
