Fox signing service late call, low fee

Got a call from Fox Signing Service at 4:00 for a piggy-back e-doc signing at 7:00. Within 10 miles of home.
Said I was available. Reply was " we will pay $100 ... it in your local area"
Quoted my price, Got the old "will have to get that approved" response.
What's scary - they didn't call back, so they must have found someone!

Are they normally that cheap?

Yes they are and VERY slow paying. They have been that way for years and they still are in business so someone is taking those signings. I have never been called back.

They're cheap, cheap, cheap! They will call me and always have to get my fee approved. Guess they never do. I've never done more for them than quote a fee!

I had a call from Express Notary at 5:10 last night for a piggy back for last night, time to be determined by my schedule. I asked "what are you authorized to pay", they said "140". I quoted my fee and got the ol "we'll have to get that authorized". So 3 minutes later they call back with a yes. They send the confirmation, I called the borrower, phone line busy. I call back two minutes later and as it's ringing I get the call from the agency that "they" have cancelled. I think that meant "we found a sucker so we are cancelling the order".
