Great Lakes
Has anyone had trouble collecting from Great Lakes Notary? I have 2 jobs they owe me for; one from 7-29 and the other from 8-26. I called and left a voice mail for their accounting gal on two occasions and she has not returned my calls.

I did one for them in July and I didn't receive payment until the end of September (60 days from service). I called twice before I received my payment so I will not be doing anymore business with them. Those terms are unacceptable to me.

Thanks, Anonymous. I feel the same way. In addition to that, these were the WORST two jobs I've had!!!

I did a signing for them on 7/27, invoiced again on 8/30 and just got paid on 10/1. Glad to get it and will not work for them again.

This is very interesting, I did a fair amount of work for them in the spring....then they dropped off the face of the earth. Then they calling a few times a week last month and quoting fees which were about half of what they used to pay me 4 months ago. They even had the manager call several times and try to bargain with me after I refused to accept the fees offered from the scheduler who called. I actually thought she was going to cry a couple of times. Needless to say it did'nt work. I dont work for free.Sounds like they may have serious money issues.

I know, they used to pay notaries a fair fee for signings. What's going on? I can't work for what they offer.

Did a closing for them a couple of years ago, but they wanted me to pay to be on their list after that. Never paid, never got called again. However, I have one interesting thing to share, the title company they worked with contacted me and asked me to fill out their form and work with them directly. Doing that now we'll see what happens.
