I don't understand!!!
Tis the season for the $50 dollar signing company requests or what? Has anyone else found this? I have read this forum from the beginning reading opinions about this very subject. It just must be my turn! I have had two solid weeks of it, and this week every one of my signing requests have gone down the drain because the actual borrowers live in other states, not where their second home is. I must be holding the record this week! Is anyone else finding October to be slow?

Extremely, but I looked over the last few years in October and they were slow also. It will probably pick up next month.

I have had many $50.00 calls also. I just tell them my fee. I am suprised to say they have been meeting it. I have been busy all year so far. I have been preparing for the slow down that everyone thinks is going to happen. Nothing here yet thank goodness.

You are right. I have heard the rumble also. This is the slowest I have seen, but I have also been blessed by some good business and some good Companies out there. I really appreciate the business. Peaks and Valleys I guess. I am surprised about meeting the $50 fee also. Once you consider travel and the overhead....what are you really making?

It is by far the slowest I have had in the six years I have been in business. Last week I had six calls all on Friday for last minute signings, but other than that the phone has been very quite. I agree that October has been historically slow, but never this slow!

I wasn't in this business last October, but I've been busy since the beginning of the month and looking forward to eom.

October is going to be my record breaking month. I've been going steady at 1-3 each day and reached my monthy average last Friday. I had 3 calls for today, 2 scheduled tomorrow, and 1 Thursday.

This is a funny $50 signing story...I got a call this afternoon for a signing next week. I agreed to take the assignment and didn't ask the fee b/c I work for this co. all the time for $65 overnite and $90 email. (within 10 miles) The scheduler said "Oh, the signing pays $50 and $15 extra for email docs." To which I replied, "Oh, in that case, I am not taking the assignment." She apologized and said that was the maximum allowance. I said "That's funny, b/c I did 2 closings for your co. today, one overnite for $65 and the other email for $90" She agreed to pay that fee after all! Too funny!

You just have to stand your ground. If you have get into your car $50.00 just doesn't cut it. They will generally meet your fees.

When I phased out $50 signings a while back, things did slow down, but when expenses were figured in, did not change the bottom line too much. Funny thing is, some of the $50 compaines are starting to call again and they are meeting my fee. That being said, I think all of us started out on $50 signings when we first began in this business. I am seeing signs of the newbies who had dreams of making easy money are beginning to drop out. So everyone hang in there, the strong will survive.

I'm a little slower than last year but not by much. And FORGET ever taking $50.00. That was the standard rate almost 6 years ago. Now some companies are going back to it becausethere are so many new SAs who thought they could make akilling in this business. They are finding out the hard way that the more SAs out there the less jobs there are for "newbies". The long termers are making out and getting their fees becauseof them having a long history in this business.
