New Notary
Hello to everyone out there- my question is; I know I need to send in my original commision letter to the place I order my stamp, however, do we get our original back or does the place I ordered my stamp keep it? Also when I do send it via US Postal should it be certified mail?

You can go to office max or office depot and order your stamp as well

Shelley, Welcome
I am in Florida so cannot answer the first part. But as to whether you should send it certified mail, with something so important I would send it certified mail, so you have proof that they received it.

Sylvia, Thank You for the feedback. How long have you been a notary? I wish you all the luck and success in this carreer.

I have been in this business for 5 years now. I am also a certified notary instructor
I also run a signing service (Florida only).

Welcome Shelley...you'll find that you will get more responses if you include your state abbreviation in your name as all states have different rules.

I just ordered my seal and I don't recall having to send my original certificate...am I crazy? The reason I know I didn't mail it is because I have the original and it isn't folded. It seems I had to mail the original letter to produce my seal and a copy of my commission.
