New Notary Signing Agent
I am a new Certified Notary Signing Agent. I have not performed any signings yet. Can anyone offer any advice? I am open to all suggestions. I am interested in marketing myself and just being good at what I do. I don't know what to expect.

Ouch, watch out (and don't feel bad) if you get blasted for your post...
Here's some suggestions that worked for me when I started out:
1. Read the messages on this board from beginning to end. It REALLY helps you understand what your job is and what the questions/mistakes/pitfalls are. 2. Use your state abbreviation after your name when posting (laws are different from state to state). 3. Don't be afraid to ask questions here, but ALWAYS do a search first and try to find your answer there. As you can imagine, there are many new notaries who've already asked the question many times before you. 5. Be a professional. Do your research, build your knowledge and again, read, read, read the posts here. There is some very helpful information out there.
Good luck to you! Anne

Hello again...
I tried adding my state abbreviation after my name, but it does not seem to work for me. Can someone please assist me? I tried this by going through my profile.

Read message #33325, there is a lot of great information there. Also, watch this forum and read the posts as often as you can possibly spare the time for. This is a wealth of information from some very good experienced signing agents that are nice enough to share their ideas and knowledge with all of us. Good Luck to you! Jenifer

Kenuita, You can use your internet search engine and type in signing services, this will bring up quite a few to contact. If you go to their websites most have specific instructions for notary sign-up. You can go to fallguyiii.com this site has a large list of companies looking for notary signing agents. Also click on the blue tab labeled signing services here in Notary Rotary, this will give you a list with ratings. Best wishes to you, Brenda M.

Everyone has been awesome. I have actually signed up with the signing companies on fallguyiii.com and with NNA. I appreciate all of the advise you have given. I am confident that I will do fine. It is always good to hear what others are doing, I don't want to leave any stone unturned. As I read the messages, I see that some people are brutal, but that is okay. I had to ask, a closed mouth does not get fed. If you all have any other suggestions I welcome them.

Re: New Notary Signing Agent - Keiunta (?)
I suggest adding your state to your posting name. (eg. Keiunta_CA) It helps a great deal if you post questions as to state-specific issues.

Go to your profile and scroll down til you see "Forums Option" and click Forums Alias (Name_ST), Tab to Default Identity- choose Forums Alias. It took me a minute to figure it out.
Again Good Luck
