Postponement.....or not!?

I had a call last Friday from SS to do a closing today....they will pay $50. I say "no my fee is $XXX". They say thank you and goodbye. Two hours later a call from same SS...."okay we will pay your fee". I say fine. Receive confirmation on Monday..guess what, it says $50. I call SS and they say it will be corrected. Received email stating my fee has been adjusted to my quoted fee. Called the BWR and confirmed appointment. Received updated confirmation today with fee $25 short. Called SS to let them know and ask where the docs are as the signing is at 11:00 and it is now 9:15. I have to leave for appt by 10:00. They said that they will email TC and have them send edocs right away. Then another call from SS saying signing is postponed....you think! Postponed or found someone to accept $50....that's my guess, but we will see.

Probably, most likely, almost definitely Not postponed. I have had 3 go south this week because of cancellations, NOT!! One company lied, went as far as to leave me hanging with no docs and no call. When I called asking about docs they said it was cancelled. Borrower called me and asked what was up, because he got a call from some other notary saying she was on her way. Makes you go Hmmmm. Borrower was not a happy camper.

I had a call Yesterday for a just grant deed signing, I told my fee, and they wanted for Today,
I told him, send me a comfirmation letter. Comfirmation came, signing was for Saturday instead of
Today, there was no fee in the comfirmation letter and the grant deed was just type in a .doc format
but for some reason it printed out so bad that I wasnt comfortable notarizing. There were 3 signature lines
without the names so I wasnt going to guess who will sign what.

When I see that a job its been done by a amateur and that Im dealing with newbies, I just cancell them.

I called him to cancel and e mail him and cancel the whole thing. I wasnt comfortable when people make
2 or 3 mistakes in just a single transaction.

I would have done the same. No sense staining your professional reputation over someone elses mistakes. It just upsets me to think that some of the ss's think we are so numb! As for my postponement, I just hope the borrowers were contacted. Wonder if I should have called them?

Just rec'd another call from the ss. Seems it is truly postponed and can they call me when it comes out of pending status. Told them yes. Nice to see some people are still honest.
