Revisiting - Board for Signing Services to Rate Notaries

I saw this post a day or so ago but did not reply so I figured I would re-visit it. I own a SS and I am not aware of such a board (but than again, I may not be made privy to one by my competitors). I have often thought that this would be a good thing though.....because just like there are some aweful SS's out there, there are a whole lot of terrible SA's too.

I do in fact share names of good and bad closers with my competition. Since I used to be a SA myself, I often get call from SS's wanting me to perform a closing for them. After letting them know that I no longer perform signings myself, I give them a name of one of the closers from my database. I have no problem doing this because of the following:

1. There is plenty of business for all of us

2. Why not pass on one of "my" closers names - more business for them right?

3. It's good business to help eachother out.

If any one ever figures out WHERE this SA rating board is, please let me know....LOL

If I ever hear of it I will let ya know. I personally would love to know if I am doign something wrong so I can fix the problem. And keep good contacts with SS's. Smiley

You know, I recall seeing something about it on here once, with a link to it. But, always being in a hurry, hurry, I did not save it to my favorites. If I do come across it again, I will post it.

If you make a minor error, (forgotten sig, missed initial forgot to stamp one ) A good company will alert you to the fact and give you a chance to correct your mistakes. (at your dime of course)

As do we....everyone is going to make mistakes..we are human...it is all in how we handle ourselves when the mistake is made. That is not what I am referring to when I say "bad notary"...I am referring to those who profess to be highly experienced, that I send out to represent my company and come to find out that they do not even know what a HUD is.... than there are the ones who decide to stamp their notary on EVERY single page in the loan package......the ones who decide to send someone else in their place only to have that person not know what they are doing.....the ones who curse you out when you ask them to correct an error that they made.....than there was one who decided to hit on the borrowers daughter during a closing while at the same time insulting the wife. I could go on and on with some of the horror stories I have encountered with some of the closers.... Than I have the closers who go above and beyond the call of duty, are always on time and professional, and are just a true pleasure to work with....SOUND A LITTLE FAMILIAR?...I think the SA and SS are all in the same boat in the grand scheme of things. There are good SA's and bad one's just like there are good SS's and bad one's.

It would be interesting to see and hear what is floating around out there about some of the SA's, but with as many as there are working, it would be so cluttered you would never be able to locate something on it about a specific person. It would be a nice tool, but we give everyone the benefit of the doubt. We keep our own records of how the SA has performed with us. We also understand that some people just have a day that is "off" for them and mistakes will happen. Just like one person may have a great experience with a SS and another may have a horrible one.
