SS... how regular do they call you?
Hi All... Posting from N. Cal anonymous because I don't want SS to know I am asking...
How often do your SS accounts call on you? I have some that I get regular work from, and others that only call a few times a month if that. I get small checks from them that come late, and these particular agencies seem to give me the worst customers. Should I do the jobs, and just look at them as a little extra money, or cut them loose due to their flakey jobs getting cancelled and me losing other appointments because I think I am booked? Not to mention I never the get print fee for the appointments that ended up canceling.

If you follow all their instructions and they end up cancelling the signing and you werent at fault. YOU SHOULD GET YOUR PRINTING FEE! If that happens DONT EVER WORK for that cheap SS.
Also tell us who they are so we dont work for them!
I understand when you work for 150.00,125.00 jobs and they have a cancellation and they give you a lot of work, well you can eat once in a while a print fee, because they are a regular client, but if they give e doc signins for 80 and 85 dollars and they cancel for whatever reason and you still have to eat the print fee? Get their fed ex acc. and send them their way!
You still have to destroy that info in those docs.

Cancellations and edoc fees
It seems that some signing services have a higher cancellation rate than others. Keep track, then decide whether the frequent cancellers are worth keeping in your client list.
There is no excuse for not paying for edocs which have been actually printed. If the signing cancels, you are entitled to the edoc fee, but no more than that. Generally, no trip == no pay. If you can get paid for a last-minute cancellation you're way ahead! Most signing services will just promise to call you first for the next signing in your area.
Depending on how quickly the service pays, whether they give you only last-minute edoc signings, and the fees they normally pay, decide what you are willing to put up with.

Re: Cancellations and edoc fees
Most of the SS's (with a few exceptions) that call in my area are simply looking for the cheapest notary they can find. When I state my fee is $xxx you can hear them gasp for air, and then the old "I'll have to get that approved" Never mind that I cover 8 rural counties plus the OKC metropolitan area.
