Statewide Document Services, Inc. - Aliso Viejo, CA
I got a call Friday night for an *open time* signing for Saturday with docs being overnighted. Confirmation is from Statewide Document Services, Inc. in California and not Statewide Document Services, Inc. in Indiana. During the initial phone call they never identified *where* they were located.
Confirmation shows an 800 # for Statewide Document Services, Inc., a (949) area code, as well as a (949) cell number.
Loan docs arrived at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday from the same *scheduler* I spoke with, and the same address and phone number as was on the confirmation -- HOWEVER, the FedEx airbill shows the sending company as USMAC/Citywide Mortgage. The folder the Borrower gets to keep also shows USMAC Citywide Mortgage Corporation.
Borrower is a single man whose name is John E. Doe II. Many docs show John E. Doe II and many more show John Joseph Doe II. I called the cell number for the scheduler that called me, which also happens to be USMAC Countrywide Director of Operations per the Notary signing instructions included in loan package. It went into his cell voice mail and I explained the name problem with the docs and marked the message urgent. I also called the 800 number only to get the answering service which refused to take a message because she was getting ready to end her shift.
Scheduler, i.e., Director of Operations NEVER saw fit to return my call on Saturday or Sunday, or to respond to my e-mail even as I type this message mid-morning Monday. I have talked with Borrower, *John E.* three times over the weekend. He told me that *John Joseph* is his father, but he is not to be listed on any of the documents, although if for whatever reason he is required to be present and sign, he is out-of-town for a *minimum* of one more week.
As anyone else had any experience with USMAC/Citywide Mortgage who apparently is operating as a SS as well?

Not Countrywide -- I meant to type USMAC *Citywide* throughout.

I do a lot of signing for this company! I have only had good experiences, they are fair, pay well and on time. It is hard to get a hold of them on the weekends :< They usually provide a phone # for the L.O. on the confirmation sheet for any after hours questions. If they made a mistake I am sure they will fix it and compensate you for your extra trip.

Thanks for the response SD. I never made any trip. I immediately saw the name discrepancies upon opening the package and that is when I called the contact cell number provided in the package. When I initially called, I didn't even realize that it was the same name/number on the confirmation I received the night earlier. I'm aware of the difficulty in reaching contact people on the weekends, and that is why I initially called the cell number, which I feel should be hooked on their hip, the same as ours is to our own hip.
I'm not out any time, except for reviewing the package, trying to get ahold of the contact person and time spent talking with the Borrower on the phone.
My biggest question is not with the documents themself -- but rather, is Statewide Document Services, Inc. in Aliso Viejo, California actually a mortgage company, i.e., Citywide Mortgage, posting as a SS in order to pay SS rates?

I think they are in the same office as Citywide, actually I know they are. The address & phone numbers are the same. So you are probably right!
