Tentative info-Cruise
Hey everyone! Here's what we're talking about so far about the cruise, and I'll have more info tonight regarding fares etc. Date: Either March 4th or 11th.(don't want to interupt EOM!) Port: Galveston TX (figured it's in the middle of the US) Itenirary: Day 1-Leave Galveston 4pm Day 2-At Sea Day 3-Majahual Day 4-Belize Day 5-Grand Cayman Day 6-Cozumel Day 7-At Sea Day 8- Galveston (arrive 7am) I liked that itenirary, very varied, as far as what you get to see and the shore excursions offered. ( I LOVE Belize. and crave the food from Viva Mexico in Cozumel....) I will be giving cost estimates from a couple of cruise lines, we want to keep the costs down so as many people can go as possible. For the person that wanted a cabin for 3, no problem, usually the first 2 in a cabin is (example only) $400.00 then 3rd and 4th is 200.00 I'll keep everyone updated!

Keep this in mind....
Those dates may be very close to Spring Break. My first cruise was Thanksgiving week and there were 978 children on board. It wasn't always a pleasant experience and we never got a lounge chair by the pool. The Mom's had those staked out by 6am.
I was on the Grand Princess 2 years ago. It was fabulous!
Just something to think about when you are timing this.

Re: Keep this in mind....
Spring Break is exactly why I'm booked for 4/8. My sister needed a date that coincided with Spring Break. The year we cruised for Thanksgiving did have lots of kids, too.

Re: Keep this in mind....
I'm hoping for the 1st week in March and MAYBE there won't be any spring breaks, although we cruise every Feb with the rugrats of ours and there are always other kids for them to play with. Most of the time they are all in the kids program anyway. But there are always a few around that are allowed to go hog wild wherever they are!

Re: Been to Belize
Belize City is not too bad if you stay in the tourist village or book an excursion, I was in the tourist village 2 years ago and every entrance is guarded by a guy with a machine gun. They were nice though to the tourists, but would not let any of the locals thru the doors. One word of advice, DON'T use the ATM in the tourist village, it debits the money from your card but doesn't give you any money out of the machine, just keeps telling you transaction failed, try again, you have to call the bank that owns the ATM there in Belize, it's about 2 blocks from the tourist village, they tell you to have your bank contact them once you get back to the states and then you will get the refund put back on your card. I most definately would not wander around alone there, but it is a BEAUTIFUL place. I enjoyed it, machine gun toting guys and all!
