Tips-Cheap Business Cards, Fax, Paper and Phone

I belong to Sam's Club. Buy my legal copy paper there $20/case.

You can get 1000 matte business card templates for under $10.00. I have a color inkjet and a laser. Both can use the matte business card template. You can download the software template at Avery.com

It takes a little time to develop your card, but I thought it was fun. I have changed mine a few times. A lot cheaper than buying business cards.

Also, you can get cheap glossy brochure paper there(it is prefolded). I hand out fliers and business cards all the time. My local UPS store makes color copies for $.50(sometime both sides). Staples often runs sales for $.39. Officemax, OfficeDepot, UPS and Kinkos will often price match. ((My first couple brochures I had Officemax print at $2.00 for color copies on both sides. Ugh! You can do it yourself for a lot less.))

Use K7.net to get a free fax. Send them to your aol or other email. Works great and its free.

T-mobile regional. I do a lot of signings for title companies etc in the Metro areal. T-mobile has 3000 minutes anytime minutes in my metro area for $39.99. Might not work for everyone, but works great for me.

Home phone, Vonage through cable $25.00 per month.

Printers-You can get them cheap at officemax, officedepot or staples. Utilize price matches and rebates. Watch www.fatwallet.com. People their post when printers go on sale and then maximize the price matches and rebates getting some unbelievable deals. Good way to pickup a second printer, cheap color machine or fax.

Been there done that!!. I have used Avery software for years and designed my own business card, but I took it to a local printer. I just prefer a good quality stock for my business cards.

Agree with LawrenceOK...

I think the business card thing is nice if you're new but you really should spend a few buck and get them done on nice stock, shows you're professional. If you don't need your photo on them you can get a 1000 for like 59.00 and have someone else do the work, be better quality (probably shiny stock) and if you make a typo your out the printing....if they do...they will rerun them.

I've gotten paper cheaper on sales, and the K7 I use, the color printing....well, I do more than I could support for printing flyers , brochures and postcards that it's less expensive to pay a printer than change the cartridges myself. And they will fold and whatever if I need.

You have to spend money to make money

But for a novice NSA...those ideas are a good temporary fix.

Re: Agree with LawrenceOK...

I order my business cards thru Vistaprint. Cheap cards and they look great! Better quality of paper than the local print shops.
I have a Staples business card and go buy paper when it is on sale..6 cartons at a time. (Looks like my office has turned into a Staples paper aisle!). I get my HP laser cartridges thru a toner place on line. (Can't remember the name).
And I'm getting ready to switch to vontage.
We all need to find ways to cheapen our burden of supplies...as gas is probably our highest expense!
Thanks for the tips.

Re: Agree with LawrenceOK...

I disagree on just one point Pamela. I tried VistaPrint and I was not satisfied with the end product. The card stock they use is just a little heavier then Avery. My local printer has over 6 grades of stock. I use the wallet grade high gloss plastic that is a little thiner then a credit card. $60 bucks for 500, but they last almost forever.
