I refused to sign someone today because loan docs had middle initial and id didn't. She did have social security card. They refused credible witnesses. I left without signing. Lender was very upset and told signing co. they wouldn't use them again. I was told id had to have at least as much info as on docs. Was I wrong????

You did what you were supposed to do. If the ID does not show the middle initial, then you cannot notarize the name with that initial. The docs should be redrawn without the middle initial or the borrower will need to get current ID in with the initial included. I would not have done the signing either, you did right!
