A-1 Settlement Services out of MN
I typically keep any comments to myself about good, bad, ugly unless I have a good comment and someone asks!
However, I did a signing for this company on 7/19 and have not gotten paid yet. No big deal so I started following up with them on 9/1 through yesterday to see if I needed to provide more info to get paid. It didn't bother me to much but I was not given a UPS account and was asked to use mine and fax the bill over, so I did. I know I shouldn't have, lesson learned.
I called yesterday and was told I would get a call back in 10 minutes. So I just had a hunch I wouldn't hear back so I was going to give them 24 hrs. It sounds like a different department handles this and I am not on the top of the list. I thought I was being fair.
Thomas Mayfield emailed me letting me know he is still checking on it today & if I got a call back, which I appreciated. I responded by letting him know I didn't expect a call right away and was giving them 24hrs before I called back and I would appreciate a call just to let me know when a check was cut and here is his response:
Becca: The phone number to Jason Fischer's office is 651-379-0414, Ambur is his assistant. I did contact them yesterday. I would urge you to be cautious in your tone with me, it is unwarranted.
TRM
Sadly, I felt this as a threat and the worst part is I wasn't taking a tone! Funny, dont think I will get a call from him again, darn!!

Im not a big fan of Tom Mayfields, he has said things like to me before as well. If you ask him a question about payment he gets mad and as you'll get paid when we get paid. Which is months later................

Sorry about the typo error, I meant to say when you ask him for a payment he gets mad, and says you'll get paid when we get paid. Months later.

It's sad that he's more worried about some "tone" instead of paying his notaries! It seems to me that his tone is the one that needs to be adjusted. Hope you get your money Becca.

NOT a good company
I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I have heard nothign but bad things about them. Thomas Mayfield is arrogant and talks down to ever female (sorry ladies) that I have talked with. He thinks he's so great and you should feel honored you are "allowed" to work with him....I'm told he used that word when talking to one of the notaries that decided not to work with him anymore.
I won't work for them and think that he has a few things to learn when it comes to business relationships and conduct. But that's what happens, the bad ones will take themselves down...it's always just a matter of time.
Good luck Becca and let us know what happens.
OH...he frequents the boards so I'm sure he'll read these posts and come back under annoy to and praise his company or something.

You said - "OH...he frequents the boards so I'm sure he'll read these posts and come back under annoy to and praise his company or something."
An appropriate Freudian slip (annoy instead of anon), I assume, in this case. LOL

Re: NOT a good company
He just called me to get my address and was really nice. He said he is mailing a check out today and I trust that so looks like the ending is going to be good!

Did you ever receive your payment? Have you done anymore work for them since?
