Another dishonest lender

Yesterday I got a call from a SS about a signing from a month ago. Supposedly my seal was blurred and the court house rejected it. I doubted that since if the first stamp impression was bad I would have stamped it a second time to make a good impression. I said maybe I had used a notary label, instead of the stamp, and new court house employees in Iowa don't always know that's legal in Iowa. I offered to send a prinout from the Iowa SOS web site regarding notary labels. Another call could I send the loose acknowledgments to California and they would forward the docs and ack to the court house. I replied let's do it the other way around. Send the docs to me and I'll attach the loose ack and send them to the court house. Another phone call, now it's not the mortgage. It's the occupancy affidavit and the signature aka affidavit. Those affidavits do not go to the court house. At least, in Iowa they don't. So I'm back to send me the affidavits. After several more phone calls and a couple hours, the affidavits are faxed to me. No notary information filled at all. Completely blank not a blurred seal. On looking at the signatures on the affidavits and comparing them to my notary journal, a child could see the signatures were nothing alike! I don't know who (lender, settlement agent, mortgage broker) was trying to commit this fraud since I only talked to the ss.

And that is why I started keeping a journal complete with signature and thumbprint even tho Florida does not require it.
