Continuing Education requirements for California
I am assisting my friend in obtaining her notary commission. The state of California now requires new notarys (after 7/1/2005) to attend a 6-hour mandatory training session.
If she pays the fee to take the state exam, where would she go to attend the class (besides the NNA).

Notaryclasses.com has an excellent program for the 6 hour mandatory training. They also have a home study course that can be done in lieu of a classroom seminar. Both programs are excellent. Have your friend go to www.notaryclasses.com to view the schedule.

Check out the SoS website for Approved Vendors
Wish I knew the exact site, but go to the best State site available: www.ss.ca.gov -- first click on Biz Portal and then on Notary Public and you'll be able to search for a vendor list from there. There are approved on-line courses, Home Study Courses and Seminars to chose from! What you chose depends on your own interest and self-discipline. Good luck!
