Good price on HP1320 memory
I found a great deal last week on extra memory for my HP1320TN but wanted to wait until it arrived and was installed to be sure it really was a good deal. I paid $21 for 128mb at http://www.kahlon.com/result.asp?modelid=614134 on Saturday (9/17). It arrived yesterday (9/21) and I just installed it (easy!!!). It was recognized right away and now shows a total of 144mb (the maximum). Why does the HP brand of this same type of memory cost over $500? For only $21, I thought some of you might like to upgrade, too. There is only one open slot for adding memory.
Not sure I really needed it but didn't want to be caught low. Bring on the huge jobs--I'm ready!!!!

HP uses a "special" type of memory that has all kinds of built-in intelligence. Unfortunately, most of that intelligence is just plain no needed for the type of printing that is often done. Also, if I remember correctly, HP uses only gold contact memory. The "cheap" memory doesn't have all the bells & whistles or intelligence that the HP memory modules have. And they don't use gold contacts.
