Gulf Coast visit.

I just got home from the MS. Gulf Coast. It was a devastating sight to see. I finally got to hug my son (thanks again to all who prayed and gave support) and we brought him supplies. His apartment complex was trashed and it's in better shape than some. No power, etc. but he's alive. We decided to return to Maryland today because yesterday we were in gas lines from 5:30am until 12:30 pm. We finally got gas in Mobile. I was afraid I would be able to get gas to leave if we'd waited until Sunday as planned. My family seems to have weathered the initial shock okay and they're now beginning to clean up. I have not only my son there, but also my inlaws and very close friends. I wish we could have done more. Everyone needs so much.

Lily, thank God your son and family is okay, and you got gas to return. I hope all the support that is *finally* pouring in will help all in the area.

Just words are not enough in this crisis.

I think things will hopefully move quickly now that help is getting there. We saw many convoys of power trucks, national guard, red cross and more on the drive down last Thursday.

Had you not been able to reach him before you got there to see about him? OMG, that is my worst nightmare. I have been thinking about that scenario and what if it were me.

No, I had spoken with him on Tues. evening. I did have to live through all of Monday and Tuesday before he was able to get a call through. Everyone here on the board was sooo supportive on Tuesday.

So glad for you that you got to see your family and set your heart at a little bit of ease in this devastating circumstances. And delighted you were able to get enough gas to get home!

My prayers for all affected will contine. It is for certain the face of America has been changed forever -- not just geographically, but also in the memories etched into our hearts of what others have suffered.

Somehow, somewhere, I fervently hope each will soon be able to get back on their feet in every conceivable way.
