MIS

Three days ago I got a job order from MIS. On my way to the job I was called and told it was cancelled. I had downloaded and printed a large package of DOCS with copies for the borrower. For all this and after beginning my travel I was given $25. I objected and spoke to Daren who decided I should be give the $25 and he would take me off the list. I WAS CLEAR THAT IT WAS WORTH AT LEAST $50.

That's awful! Did you have an understanding with them beforehand as to what their fee was in such circumstances? If not, you're outta luck! Take the $25, run and be glad you won't have to deal with them again!

Next time, try to remember and ask those questions ahead of time (see message thread #33325 -- one of them talks about what to say/ask on getting an assignment). Since you were called three days earlier, there was plenty of time to ask those questions.

You can expand upon that message and keep a list of the important questions to ask right by your phone or wherever you are when you make these appointments. (What if Borrowers are a no-show, what if they refuse to sign, etc.) And let it be known verbally what your policy regarding cancelations is beforehand.

Good luck with it!

I have dealt with MIS for the past 2 1/2 yrs and they are the worst to work with.
The ONLY reason I do deal with them is I have a very large acct that uses theere services.
If I had my way I would have this acct of mine use another title co.
Its just a matter of time before that happens also.

I had an offer last week from another SS and they said that if the BO wouldn't sign, then I would only be paid $25.00. I politely declined. At least they were up front about it.

Thanks for your replies. I never had a problem with MIS before this. I am up front with new companies about my fee being firm regardless of what the borrower does. I do my job and expect to be paid for it.
