OT- cell phone number can be Googled

Just a word of caution. I know someone had mentioned this before, but my cell never showed up on google until I signed up with 123notary.com. Now anyone who has access to my cell phone can get my home address. I went and changed all of my profiles to read "address with order" and find that change to be no problem. Companies just ask. I know home addressess are available by other means, but that was just too easy.

I'm signed up with them and I tried to Google my cell and came up empty. Is this something new relative to signing up with them?

My number came up 5 or 6 times...once with both my google and yahoo! link I created, 2x with NotaryCA.com, who I trained with and gave me a link on their site and National Car & Truck rental through merchantamerica.com. Any best practices any of you would recommend? Thanks.

How do you Google your cell number to check?

You Google by entering your cell number ie: 000-000-0000 N/M

Sorry for the double post but you can even check up on

Signing Services, another site is Knowx but this one charges. You'd be amazed how many signing services don't comply with common business laws.

I previously worked for an investigator and the average "Joe" or Jane" has no clue as to what type of personal information is available for the "public" to see. There is not much you can do about it except to live under a rock - ie: don't vote, don't own any property, don't have any type of phone, pay cash for everything, avoid the internet at all costs, don't buy magazine subscriptions (a BIG source of information)- and even then, a person can be found. It is frightening. It took me a long time to get over it. On the other hand, all that information is extremely useful for tracking those individuals who are less than stellar members of the community.

My advice, for what its worth, just be careful about where you post information. Unfortunately this line of business requires our contact information to be made very public. The thought I keep in the back of my mind is that it takes a savvy person to find this info - most criminals are not savvy. If they were, they would not get caught!
