Oh wise computer ones...please help.....elynx?
I did a signing last night with e-docs. I downloaded the elynx utilities program and proceeded to print docs. I would get about 75% complete and my printer would say not enough memory and would cancel the rest of the printing. When checking my computer it showed I had plenty of memory?? Not sure what was happening. I had to keep shutting my computer off and rebooting it and then download everything again and then it would then print the whole package. I had to do the same thing when I went to print the 2nd loan. I have windows xp and use an hp laserjet 2300. I should have had plenty of memory to print these docs. I have never run into this problem before. Can anyone advise?? TIA!!!!

Get more printer memory - not computer memory

A quick fix would be just to print half of the entire document at a time. If it is not enough memory then your printer will either take forever to print and will only print a few pages (if at all) or just not print. You either need a printer with more memory or like Sylvia said, you need to buy more printer memory (if your printer allows it).

Does anyone know how to VIEW an elynx file before printing it? And, I installed the program, but it won't print on both letter and legal. Any suggestions? I am getting alot of e-doc signings with elynx docs since 8/12 but have to print all on legal.

IIRC, eLynx docs (xxxxxxx.elx) use a very small print stub that does not support tray selection, nor document viewing. However, if you use the VMP Delivers Encrypted viewer (dtview), you can view the docs and print selected documents using the Windows printer drivers instead of the the raw PCL file. Of course, you need to install dtview (download at http://pawnotary.com/download/dtprint6.exe) and you may need to save the .elx file to your hard drive before printing.

I have had larger files in the past and not had a problem printing them so not sure why it is saying not enough memory this time? But maybe I should just install more memory for the future. Do you know why it would print once I shut everything down and rebooted?

When there is not enough memory, it takes and drains all of your computer resources all at once. That is the reason it either freezes or just quits on you.

Try this. From the tool bar, click settings, then printers. A window will open listing all your print options including any printers you have if you have mutiple printers and and fax programs you have. Find the box listing your printer, right click, then choose properties. Then click details, then at the bottom of that window, click spool settings. Make sure the options "spool print jobs so program finishes printing faster and start printing after first page is spooled" This will allow the print program to use the computer memory as a buffer. If you have "print directly to printer" checked, then it goes directly to printer and if you only have 8mb or so, it will quit.
Another option would be to downloat a pdf converter (PDF995 or similar) that will convert the file to PDF, then print it from Adobe reader. But only try this if you are experienced at fiddling with your computer. It took me a while to get it set up and I only use it when I am mobile and need to print docs on the run on my HP1012. Otherwise, I use my Brother that has plenty of memory .

It seems like you have plenty of it. Have you tried saving your docs to your desktop and then printing from there. Sometimes this helps.

Something else is going on. 32 should be plenty.
I only have what came with the printer 16mb. I had 89 on my HP 1012, but I have print manager configured the way I described and have never had a problem.
Downloading it and saving it to the desktop then printing as another poster suggested might help also.
