Power Of Attorney - Must recipient be present??

Hello all,
I have a quick question. Does the person being assigned as the POA need to be present? We need quick advice for a meeting today. THANK YOU!

Hi Anon,

I would think not. Drawing from my personal experience, I did a power of attorney for a Mexican woman a number of months ago granting a poa with respect to some property in Mexico to some relative of hers. Was the relative there? Nope, she (or he) was in Mexico. The fact that her relative wasn't there was never an issue.

Thank you. Truly appreciate both your quick response as well as your experience. Thanks again!
